Meet Our Doctors!
Bridget Frio, O.D.
Dr. Bridget Frio, a 2004 graduate from Binghamton University with a B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology and a 2009 graduate with a Doctorate in Optometry from Salus University in Pennsylvania.
Dr. Frio has been providing eye care to the Syracuse area in a variety of settings including busy ophthalmology practices and the VA Hospital. With over 10 years of experience medically managing a variety of eye conditions, she is now committing full-time to her private practice. She is a member of the American Optometric Association, NYS Optometric Association and Treasurer of the CNY Optometric Association. Mary McCarthy, O.D.Dr. Mary McCarthy, an optometrist who has practiced in the Syracuse area for 20 years. She specializes in primary care optometry, including diagnosis and management of ocular disease.
She has earned a Doctorate in Optometry from Indiana University. She has a special area of interest working with low vision-patients. A native of the Syracuse area, she earned an undergraduate degree from Le Moyne College. She achieved fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2007 and is a member of the American Optometric Association. You can find her at our Chittenango location!

Kayla Dingman, O.D.
Dr. Kayla Dingman, a 2016 graduate from SUNY Geneseo with a B.S. in Biology and a 2024 graduate from Salus University in Pennsylvania with a Doctorate in Optometry.
Part of her training took place at the VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, TN; Batavia VA Medical Center in Batavia, NY; The Eye Institute (TEI) of Salus University, and MyEyeDr in Merrimack, NH. She is a member of the American Academy of Optometry. She splits her time at our Central Square location and an ophthalmology office in Liverpool. |

Heather Kiah
Heather is one of our NYS Licensed Opticians who works at our Central Square location. She is certified under the American Board of Opticianry & National Contact Lens Examiners, Inc. (ABO-NCLE).
She has worked at the office for about a year and and has been working in the optician field for 30+ years. |
Katherine Bayne
Kate is another NYS Licensed Optician who works at our Chittenango location. She is also certified under the American Board of Opticianry & National Contact Lens Examiners, Inc. (ABO-NCLE).
She began working at the office in May of 2024. She has worked in the ophthalmology, optometric, and optician fields for 5+ years. Prior to working at the office, she had also completed a paraoptometric certification. |
Angel Dixon (Apprentice)Angel D. is our apprentice, currently working towards her NYS Optician License under the American Board of Opticianry & National Contact Lens Examiners, Inc. (ABO-NCLE).
She has been in the optical field for 4+ years and began at Frio Eye Care late 2024. She also does technician work at the Central Square location.

Amanda B.Amanda B. is our scribe, technician, billing coder, and more. She has worked here for four years and counting! She has many roles and duties at Frio's. She works at both our Central Square and Chittenango locations.
She graduated from Le Moyne with a B.A. in 2007 and is currently working towards a Paraoptometric Certification.

Jessica B.
Jessica B. is our receptionist at the Central Square office. She has worked at Frio Eye Care for about two years, and has previously worked within the world of customer care for 25 years.

Amanda P. is one of our technicians. She was brought onto the Frio team in June of 2025 and has worked in the optical field since August of 2024.
She graduated from Oswego State in 2023 with a B.A. and is currently working towards a Paraoptometric Certification. |
